SUMMARY
This Infection Control course is an interactive program for health professionals who are new to the field of Infection Control or are about to enter into the practice of Infection Control. The purpose of the course is to introduce participants to the practice of Infection Prevention and Control and to increase participants’ knowledge and skills for managing the prevention and control of infections and disease.

· Factor influencing the outcome of exposures
· Methods to prevent the spread of pathogenic organisms in healthcare settings
o Standard / Universal Precautions
o For patients infected with organisms other than blood borne pathogens
o Control of routes of transmission
· Selection and Use of PPE with potentially infectious material.
· Needle/Sharps Disposal
· Sterilization techniques (Terminology)
· Disinfection
