About this course
The Lifting Supervisor course is designed to tap-in to your existing knowledge of lifting operations and enhance it, to enable you to direct and supervise a safe lifting operation in accordance with the safe system of work. The Training will also help you identify problems that may have the potential to lead to unsafe situations during a lifting operation. This course covers the functions required to undertake Lifting Supervisor to meet the minimum formal training and assessment standards for the purposes of certification through Workplace Health and Safety.

* Know the Major causes of crane accidents
(Contact with Power Lines, Overturns, fall, Mechanical Failures)
* Definition of Terms
* Annual Inspections
* Identify the people at risk
* Correct Planning before Start Up
* Familiarize the Parts of Cranes
* Check acceptable Load Capacity & Speed
* Identify the Types of Cranes and crane Hazards
* Warnings (Warning Identification)
* Mobile Crane Lifting Principles
* Know the Weight of the Load and Load Limiting Factors
* What To Inspect (Damaged Wire Rope, Worn Part, Tire Inspections)
* Things to Consider: ( Improper Load, Power Line , Hand Signals, Guard Moving Parts, Swing Radius, Operator Visibility, Ladders, Guardrails, Suspended Loads, Boom Angle Indicator, Supporting Surface, Sheaves, Rigging Equipment, Slings )

*This course is specially designed for personnel who wish to be trained and appointed as a Lifting Supervisor for lifting operation using any crane (i.e.: tower, mobile and gantry cranes including lorry loader with articulate arm)
